Welcome Message
After 35 years in education and three years as Chief Executive Officer at Philadelphia Academy Charter School, I can state with confidence that the staff at our school has what it takes to provide an excellent education to all 1,200 students in our program. From providing strong academics that integrate science, technology, mathematics to an appreciation of humanities and the arts, through meeting the special needs of our students, we at Philadelphia Academy are committed to ensuring that all children reach their potential.
Through small class sizes we are able to provide the individual attention that all our students need and deserve. Our staff is committed to ensuring that parents and families are part of the process ensuring success for all. As such, we boast an annual attendance rate of 96% from kindergarten through grade 12. Our staff is committed to self-improvement through comprehensive professional development and attendance at professional conferences.
In addition to a strong academic program with a variety of academic and arts driven electives we strongly emphasize character development in all of our students from kindergarten through grade 12. To succeed in life, we at Philadelphia Academy believe that in addition to knowledge, all students need to be considerate of others and learn to work in a team environment. Students are encouraged to embrace honesty, integrity, hard work, respect for all and community service as keys to success.
All of our classrooms from kindergarten through grade 12 are equipped with the latest technologies. Staff has been trained in the use of the equipment and are well prepared to move our students from kindergarten through grade 12 and into the ranks of the college bound as well as the service and careers.
While these points paint a small picture of Philadelphia Academy, experiencing the uniqueness of our school through the words of our parents, students and community partners tells the real story.
